A Must Read if you use Twitter

We forget this so often don’t we? We tick off our Mass attendance, Rosary, Lectio Divina, our prayers for others and think well done? But is this not just our duty as servants of the Lord where and how can we congratulate ourselves for doing only what is required of us?

Our servanthood is just the beginning of obeying the will of the Father? Do we not pray, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven”?

Just the beginning, not the end. We will never have time to rest this side of death it is only after death that we might hear the words “well done good and faithful servant”.

Perhaps today we ought to reflect on exactly what kind of servant we are at the moment. Is it still all about me? What I can get out of it in prayer? Rituals that make us feel good? Or are we truly serving Him and Him alone doing what He wants done. Pertinent thoughts in this month of mission.

I’m a late comer to Catholic Twitter and most days I feel a sense of despair at petty disagreements over The Amazon Synod, name calling the Pope, Veils, how we receive communion (if only folk knew their history)!

Are we being good humble gentle servants of God by this behaviour?

Are we? Let us examine ourselves!
